Work introduction
This work is another composition from my transdisciplinary "Accordion + Street Dance" synthesis
Poly-Rhythm-Tut is an experimental composition and with that a micro deconstruction of the 3 vs 2/2 vs 3 polyrhythm. To understand this work, the musician/dancer has to be familiar with the polyrhythm in general. Here the polyrhythm 2 against 3 defines both the music and the dance. The rhythms occur in duets, triplets and 2 against 3 or 3 against 2. The dancer 00:55 (in the video) makes the rhythm visible through the street dance style tutting. The dancer's arms move to the above mentioned rhythms. Both arms move simultaneously in duets and triplets, they move against each other in polyrhythms 2 vs 3 or 3 vs 2, it gives the impression of being off beat (only the one is on the beat). The experimental sound is defined by the fact that the real-time recording of the accordion has been atonally modulated by several synthesizers! The settings of the synthesizers and the sound modulations are described in detail under "Playing instructions".
This composition is a micro deconstruction of the 3 vs 2/2 vs 3 polyrhythm!
