Work introduction
This work was commissioned for the 2015 London Festival of Contemporary Church Music, of which the composer is a patron. The Festival is based at St. Pancras Church, London, and in 2015 took place at the time of Ascensiontide in the calendar of the Anglican Church. The work is a vibrant, dynamic, setting of words from the 1662 Book of Common Prayer in the Anglican Church. It was first performed by the Choir of St Pancras Church, London, directed by Christopher Batchelor on 13th May 2015, and was broadcast live on BBC Radio 3.
