Work introduction
Romanian music has been a lifelong love of mine. When my talented friend, the violinist Diana-Maria Turcu, played me a snippet of her catchy Romanian-inspired tune, I couldn't resist taking this musical gem and adding a touch of sparkle, not to mention a whole lot of fun and turning into the “Romanian Fantasy”. Diana told me all about her hometown, Botosani, and I thought to dedicate this piece to the place that's so close to her heart.

The song starts with a touch of nostalgia, like a warm hug from your homeland. But as it goes on, it takes a wild turn, bursting into an upbeat melody. And just when you think it can't get any more exciting, Diana steps up with a violin solo that's part her, part Paganini, and all Botosani-inspired magic. It's like Paganini went on a wild Romanian adventure!
