Three-movement work for string orchestra: I. Allegro energico; II. Adagio lacrimosa; III. Frickin' Tango. The first movement provides a driving energetic opening. The poignant second movement features a solo cellist. The third movement, "Frickin' Tango," is a steamy tango, but its 4/4 rhythm is interrupted at times by measures of 5/4 (which contain a frickin' extra beat, hence the title).
