Work introduction
Written in 1985, Sesquialtera is a single long movement, including several sections in different tempi. The title Sesquialtera (a Latin term for the 3:2 ratio, the ratio of a perfect fifth in music) stems from the fact that particular emphasis is given to this interval in the piece. The revision is from 2015.
