Work introduction
The ritual character of the music is highlighted by the use of repetitive techniques, by the importance given to breathing - which becomes an element exploited throughout the piece, by large musical sections based on modes with limited number of sounds. The performer who approaches the piece will face challenges in terms of dosing the breath, frequent changes of measure, the use of extended techniques.
