Work introduction
Soul Searching is one of the first concertos for the Contrabass Clarinet ever written. It was premiered at Cadogan Hall in London by Scott Lygate and the London Mozart Players conducted by the composer, at the London Festival of Bulgarian Culture in 2016. The work is dedicated to the victims of terrorism. It is composed monolithically in one continuous movement and features Martin Georgiev's signature technique for composition - Morphing Modality. The accompaniment can be performed by either String Orchestra or a smaller String Ensemble, or even a String Quintet.
