Work introduction
The basic duct of this composition is a dialogue between the two instruments. The motif material is kept simple and should primarily be memorable so that it can be well understood through the course.
The formal structure follows less a geometric than a dramaturgical principle. The increasingly fast-rotating carousel of the conversation finally comes to a unexpected calm in the meno-mosso part, before the conversation whips up to a new energetic exchange of blows in the final part.
I hope that this Capriccio brings joy not only to the listeners, but also to the musicians.
