Work introduction
In 1968-72 I explored the techniques of the period such as free notation and aleatoriy, combined with fixed notation; this process culminated in “Aspiration” for 11 mixed instruments in 1971 (premiered at the Young Nordic Musik (UNM) festival in Copenhagen 1972).
This mode of exploration came to an end during my stay in India 1972-74, and the very first work composed from this new point of view became “Three Movements for Solo Flute” 1973. (Parallel to this a “Study for Solo Violin” was composed.).
