The first of Three Pieces for organ is entitled SOURCE GROUND and inspired by some grandiose, paragraphs in the book The Mystery of Golgotha (p.22 & 23).

The core of the work is a short hymn-like melody, which also occurs in "Brenne" for violin and piano, and in "Leys III" for flute, violin and piano.
