Work introduction
In accordance with the structure of the location where the work was performed, glass being the predominant material used in construction, I’ve composed a piece in which the glassy effect of the harmonic sounds are often encountered. In order to highlight them, I’ve created contrasting structures, more active in terms of rhythm, more compact in terms of sound density, the brightness of the glass combining with the dense aspect of the earth.
Translucence was written for the OPEN HOUSE CHICAGO project, being performed at the Dirtt Building on October 18, 2014 by Myra Hinrichs and Nora Barton.
