Variations is a solo viola piece based on a theme of Menuet II of the French Suite No.1 in D minor BWV 812 by Johann Sebastian Bach. The composition is written in the form of Theme with variations, it consists of six variations in D minor. The piece begins directly with the first variation without presenting Bach's original theme.
