Warchild Soundtrack - Senada meets Aida

Composer´s notes

Warchild is the second film in a film trilogy by director Christian Wagner. I composed the music for the movie at the request of the director. Senada meets Aida is only a short part of the music that appears near the end of the movie.

The movie shows a true story that happened during the Kosovo war. The two-year-old daughter of a family disappeared during the war while the Red Cross was trying to rescue children. The mother, Senada, was in prison during the war and separated from the father. 12 years after the war, the mother works as a real estate agent in Sarajevo and is still searching her daughter. By chance, she sees in an article in the Süddeutsche Zeitung that another child, who has also been missing since the war, has been found in Germany.

She travels to Germany with great difficulties to search her own daughter. After many very unpleasant and dramatic events she finds her adopted by a German family in a village close to the city Ulm. The parents didn’t give their permission for an adoption, but it somehow happened during the turmoil of the war when aiming to at least save the life of the small girl.

The music Senada meets Aida can be heard during the scene of the movie when Senada meets her daughter Aida for the first time after this long separation lasting 12 years and all the adventures and obstacles to find her.
