Work introduction
After Midnight for tenor (or bass) trombone & piano was inspired by Italian trombonist-composer, Nicola Ferro's "Daybreak" and "Sunset". This piece is a slow and jazzy number, set in a smoky lounge where everyone was feeling drunk and sleepy.
The tenor trombone version of this piece was premiered by tenor trombonist, David Wong Sze Kwan, and the composer on Sunday, 11th October 2015 at the Victoria Concert Hall, Singapore. The bass trombone version was premiered by bass trombonist, Zachary Bond, and the composer on Saturday, 27th July 2019 at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, Singapore.
