We are delighted to once again cooperate with the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz on Franz Schubert and Modern Music! The international competition Franz Schubert and Modern Music (FS&MM) is a chamber music competition that was founded in 1989 by the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz. Since then, it has attracted young musicians from all over the world to Graz. The aim of the competition is to combine Schubert's chamber music with contemporary and modern works for similar instrumentation. In addition, the chamber music repertoire is actively expanded through composition competitions and commissioned works. The winning pieces of the Piano Trio 2024 Composition Competition will be premiered as part of the 12th Chamber Music Competition next year. 

Universal Edition supports the Composition Competition 2024 with the following prizes: We are awarding annual subscriptions for our publishing tool scodo worth €300 (per user) to the winners. These composers can use scodo free of charge for one year with all the benefits of our Professional subscription. Furthermore, Universal Edition will award all participants of the Composition Competition 2024 a free submission for scodo. These composers will receive a voucher code with which they can submit their works via scodo free of charge for evaluation by our Artistic Committee. If the submitted sheet music meets our Quality Guidelines, the composers will be accepted into Universal Edition and can publish their works with us via scodo from then on. 

The submissions for the 2024 Composition Competition have now closed, with a record number of 206 submissions from composers from 54 nations.
