This romance was written in 1905, based on a lyric by Francesco Cimmino, one of the poets who most inspired Tosti.
The great fascination of this romance lies in the impetus, in the loose and loose writing, with an almost popular imprint.
This string quartet version has been realized for a concert organized by "Maggio Musicale Fiorentino".
